2 Job Description:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide compassionate care and practical assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Your role is to empower service users to live as independently as possible, offering emotional support, promoting wellbeing, and helping them achieve personal goals within a safe and supportive environment.
3 Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and practical support to service users with mental health conditions.
- Assist individuals in developing daily living skills and achieving personal goals.
- Support with medication management and care plans in line with individual needs.
- Promote independence and positive wellbeing through person-centred support.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and care documentation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and family members.
- Uphold safeguarding and confidentiality standards at all times.
4 Required Skills:
- Previous experience in a mental health or social care setting (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting others.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Relevant qualifications (such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care) are desirable but not mandatory.
